Problem Statement
Create a user-friendly web-portal for obtaining quotes for air and ocean freight rates. The portal should allow users to input details of their shipment, select optional services, and receive accurate quotes for their shipment.
Goals
Create an intuitive and efficient portal allowing users to input shipment details such as weight, dimensions, type of shipment (boxes, pallets, containers), origin and destination locations, and optional services selection. The portal should offer rate quotes based on the inputted information for various shipment types like Air Cargo, Sea Cargo, or Courier Boxes. Focus on enhancing user experience by designing a seamless flow that guides users through the process effortlessly, ensuring clarity, ease of use, and efficiency in obtaining accurate rate quotes for their shipments.
Target Audience
The target audience for a shipping company offering air, sea, and courier services, both domestically and internationally, can be categorized based on their shipping requirements. This includes consumers, businesses shipping various products, domestic and international shippers, customers with specific needs like high-value items seeking secure shipping solutions, large shippers targeted through marketing campaigns, and industry sectors like manufacturing or healthcare.
Pain Points
1. Transparency
Lack of transparency in tracking shipments, delays in delivery, and high shipping costs when using local vendors.
2. Management
Difficulty in managing international shipments, complex customs procedures, and high shipping costs.

Solution
Separate screens for data entry of personal details, shipment details etc. can help consumers enter their personal details and receiver details more easily, reducing the chances of errors and ensuring accurate shipment information. Small business owners may face challenges in managing international shipments, separate screens can help them manage data entry.
Overall service for small to large businesses as well as one time users, streamline the process of providing accurate data for all with options such as entering the weight of their packages, this will also help users get cost effective shipping service instead of paying for standard charges.
Make it easy for users to choose between different types of shipping service that best suit their requirements.
Reasons
Separate screens to input personal details and shipping details will increase visibility, general aesthetics of the screen and will have a clean UI, ensuring no confusion among the users while entering the details, hence accurate shipping details.
Incorporated a grid style for the home screen which uses less space and more information, with this, I could include the 3 major shipment services as well as a card for order tracking, all within the first fold of the screen, this will help users to scan through the screen effectively.
Clean and user friendly UI for all age groups, with the minimalism incorporated in the screens that require user’s data, is appreciated by millennials as well as by users above the age of 40 as this UI allows greater visibility.
